The Lord's Prayer or the “Our Father” is probably the most well-known prayer from the Christian tradition. It’s found in Matthew 6:9-13, and a similar prayer is found in Luke 11:2-4. This is a prayer Jesus gave in response to the disciples for guidance on how to pray.

We know that the writers of the Bible drew on the influences of their culture and language at the time of writing. I love the idea of using new metaphors from our modern times to reinterpret the meaning of these ancient words and discover what God might be saying to us today, in ways that we can hear and understand.
